  • Feed A Family: $25.00
  • Supply a Child with a New Outfit for School: $20.00
  • School Supplies and backpack : $25.00
  • Survivor Basket : $150.00
Each Survivor basket is a laundry basket filled with household supplies including small appliances, pots, pans, kitchen ware, plates, bath towels, toiletries, food, and handmade family quilt, a special item for each child, usually a toy such as a Barbie doll, toy truck, color books, reading books, etc. plus other misc. supplies requested by family. These baskets are supplied to the abused single mother and her children when they go into transitional housing to help her along her long path of starting over.
  • Emergency Supplies: $50.00 and up
This program's funds are kept in a savings account so we can be prepared for our "weekly" disasters. It seems every week we encounter a new homeless family, or one in crisis. For example: Just last week, a grandmother taking care of her 6 little grandchildren (all under the age of 5), lost their home to the storm. Their home was completely gone, when the tree fell on the roof, only the foundation and the sink survived. Our program was able to supply this new family with tents, tarps, emergency supplies (flashlights, lanterns, rope, etc.), clothing for all the children, food to last a month, and was able to get a tree man to come and clear the debris and make the surrounding trees safe from further damage. This happened a few days before our big Easter Egg Hunt and Dinner Party. If it wasn't for our emergency system, we would not be able to help this family, or would have to sacrifice the homeless children's promised Easter baskets.
  • About Our Clients:

Our clients are referred to us by local agencies, such as DHS, Hale O' Puna, East Hawaii Coalition for the Homeless, Turning Point for Families, Hale O'Hana, Pathways to Harmony as well as our own outreach at the local homeless beaches.

Many think of the homeless as a drunk who choose not to care about their lives any longer, but the reality is the average age of the homeless in Hawaii is 9 years old.

Despite the fact that most of these households are employed full time, statistics show that 1 of 6 children are still poor, and of those, 2 out of 3 are below poverty level. In addition 30% of homeless families fall into cases of neglect or abuse, and 50% of these homeless children have seen violence in their home before the tender age of 5.

By 2006 we hope to have our transitional housing project set up to further enhance our clients' lives.

Join us to make a difference in their precious lives. Help keep their spirits alive!

100% of all Donations goes to help the local Keiki.

If you would like to become part of the solution please feel free to contact us at the e-mail, mail, or phone information listed as the top of this page. One of our volunteers will be happy to introduce our different programs and help you to find one that fits within your goals.
